Hey there everyone. Troy Roark here at Springfield IL Homes for Sale .com. This is a time of Thanks, and I want to thank YOU for coming back to the site over and over. We’ve had well over 2000 hits on our shows so far, and considering we haven’t even started promoting it yet… I think that’s great. So thanks.
It’s also a time of giving, and this Saturday is a fantastic opportunity for you to get started, while helping yourself out as well.
Saturday is National Small Business Saturday. It’s a concentrated effort to give a boost to the Mom-n-Pop’s out there who need and deserve it!
I can think of several reasons why it makes good sense to buy local. Here are just a few.
1) Small Business Drives Employment
As I heard on NPR this past week (I looked everywhere for the source, but could not find it) all job growth since 1980 can be attributed to small business. SINCE 1980!!
2) You always get the coolest gifts locally
You know it’s true. It’s the small quirky places that have the best gifts.
3) Many locally owned restaurants are conscious of buying local goods.
Which only multiplies your affect on the local economy.
So, while we’re encouraging you to buy local on Saturday, is there a reason we shouldn’t do it every day?
Thanks a lot. Have a great Thanksgiving!
